(Administrative comment: Posting has been light lately. I haven’t given up on blogging, but I am trying to adjust some things in my schedule. I’m putting an effort in maintaining a daily post to meditatio mea, but when everything is done there isn’t always time to get in a post here at mj. Sorry about that.)
Today’s excitement was a trip to Grove City College with my oldest for an interview and tour of the campus. He’s considering attend there next fall, and I was impressed with the campus. It is very nice, and they do a great job of presenting it in the most favorable light.
But there was one issue. As an alumni of both Syracuse and USC, I know how important the football program is to campus life. The one problem I saw with Grove City was that their football field has very small bleachers. I’m talking tiny. I’ve been to high school football games with bigger stands. It must be very hard to get tickets to the game with so little seating. The home games must sell out all the time, and if you can’t go to the football game, what’s the point of attending the college? On the plus side, if the game is sold out, they won’t black out the TV coverage in the local area, but I’d hate to be reduced to only watching the home games on ESPN.

Have you EVER seen Grove City football on TV? Are you sure they really have a team? Just wondering.

It is not hard to get tickets. It’s a D3 school. Trust me, it’s nowhere near USC or Syracuse.

Thanks, James. That’s good to know I can get tickets as it is now official. My oldest son will be attending Grove City in the fall, and I hope to attend a few games.
(Maybe somebody will scalp their season tickets or something.)
Best regards,
M.

As you may know, R.J. Bowers graduated from Grove City College. He was, at one time, the leading college running back in the country.

No, I didn’t know about R.J. Bowers. Thank you for that fact.
