A. The Spirit applies to us the redemption Christ bought by producing faith in us and so uniting us to Christ in our effective calling.

Our salvation is due completely to the work of Jesus Christ, and therefore we are only saved as we are united by faith with Him. His death is our death, and consequently we live for Him.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

¹⁴ For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; ¹⁵ and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
